Two circuits joined
Next step on generator: Seems VERY promising. As you can see on picture,
I have removed both batty packs and connected both circuits TX and ignition
in one circuit! Calculations:
2S A123 150 grams
4S NiCD 265 grams
replaced them with small 1700 NiCd pack 140 grams
Result is 275 grams saved on batteries
The generator weight is 70 grams.
Summary: With the generator and one small pack what does not
need to be charge every day we are winning 205 grams. This is a LOT!!!
Going to make the power lines safe and test all at field. I believe
the heli dis aper in the sky:-D

Servo arm Zenoah
The Zenoah 20 is sold with no throttle arm and builders have hard time
to find one. I have looked to other makers solutions and found that most
of them supply the arm holder with kit. I have to do as well - since
today the kit. will contain the arm holder.

Battery tray
After several problems with orignall holder I had to make new more secure
holder with more space.

Pull starter details
Be ware there MUST be threated spacer not only washer. If you post
washer only there, it will shortly slide down to the bearing and will damage
the bearing gasket. Spacer MUST be metallic not soft aluminum or copper.

BE WARE OF SWITCH!!
As discused many times at many forums. I have problem with the main switch
as well. Twice in two days went by itself OFF even more then 100
tanks was OK. There is two ways to fix the issue. Use some
rubber to fix the ON position or quit the switch and use direct connection
to battery. I don't really know the exact reason for thiss issue
but I thing the problem is soem king of vibes at gassers..

Battery for G520 IE solution
The CZ builders have found nice solution for the hungry Z20EI electronic
ignition.
1) 2S Lipol 7,4V weight i 90g. I did not tested yet!
2) 2S A123 nominal 3,3 charging 3,6V So one 2S pack
is 6,6V. 10A charging curent. 10 minutes and is charged.
One cell 2300mAh. The Z20 E ignition is eating 1,7A continuously.
I have tested this solution - result perfect!! You can get the A123

But honestly, It is just result of Mark Ryder "creations" at helimodel
scene. To be honest, It was not big deal to crate the page, take
few hours of work. There was lots of material about Mark at goggle huge
source from and big group of cooperating people happy to help
since Mark have done lots of bad things against to heli public. I did not
even know all of them before I have started to make the page.. It suprised
me allot..

Even people ask, I don't want use my own forum yet. I have the experience,
but It is lots of work and I don't want to spent time at this
matter. It is not worthy. At the beginning I used Runryder, but there is
not freedom, the forum is not fair is censored and all post what
lots people post there, can be erased in any minute. Does not make sense
to spent even small amount of energy there. Please
do not use Runryder to exchange experience with our conversions.
Same
situation is with Helifreak forum where competitor Chris Bergen started
war against to us even the forum owners announce there are not personal
attack and erases of posts on Helifreak. I lost the trust with Helifreak.
We don't want to push somebody out of bussines..But is it natural way,
that all gasser newbies will go now by gasser sized 50. Everybody had same
chance to be first on the market. No doubt about it. Chose your forum carefully.
Once you enter or make post, You make higher score to forum. The score
is the thing what advertisers watching carefully to make decision
where to pay to the owner for their adds... So thing twice, the key si

Engine measure point set
I had to set the measuring point in order to be able communicate with all
buyers and developers. Teh point is just behind the first rib of engine
cylinder using Traaaxas sensor. /ùease do not ask for temp issues if you
dont use same solution to measure temp.

Be ware about engine RUN IN!!
More and more people around have problems with gasser engines no matter
which manufacturer makes the frames. People are just hurry to fly the heli
and try to fly 3D ASAP. It is no possible!
The engine needs around 3 galons/7 liter of gas to run in! you been
WARNED!! Look here for more info

Aeroomni starting production of blades.
Mark Ryder at Runryder intended to make to Aeroomni very bad name. The
opposite of negative campaign against company Aeroomni appear to
be true. There is still Aeroomni account at Ebay with 1000+ positive
feedbacks. The blades was simply popular and many people used them and
still ask for them. Since there is interest, I'm trying to get all rights
to renew the Aeroomni production. |

Over the Xmass days was all slow and lots boring time. I spend it by
another hobby - have projected and build CNC mill. Now will be all much
faster - I will have the new parts for following prototypes in hand in
few minutes ready for test.... When proven, I can send them to makers let
them make bunch of it..
Picture here, just need few days to finish the table. After tests done,
going to replace the steppers with much faster stronger and exact DC servos.
The next project is a question of next month. Lots people asking conversion
for Raptor 30/50. On the market the R30/50 carbon can be found but is so
expensive and in real world, it is already different heli. My idea is just
to make simple conversion to carbon with less different parts as possible.
Exactly like was the R90/gasser conversion done. It works, people likes
that, and I would like to do what people likes
So, when somebody need some cutting job, don't hesitate to mail me..

Just came back from motor bike shop. 10 bolts one dollar.
Now is there around 4 mm gap - so, no chance that the fan will touch
the top of the bolt head.
Anyway, my old solution is still running OK. But this is much nicer
and the flat head cant cause any damage to the base surface even you buy
fan with the plastic very bent. New kits go with that bolts. People who
already have the kit purchased can get the bolts upon request. Don't forget
to use red loctite there.

So, there are now much lower bolt heads under the fan. Than the space
(number4) in the case should be lower as well. Making manual V2 - it will
be there soon.

Fixit have sent one nice improvement for the kit. It was quickly edited
and cuted from carbon material.
Just remember the servo goes in from the back and not as shown in gassermans
photo, this was just to show the frame.

Gasser Kit Build Progress from Fixit
Well I have been building one of Gasserman’s Raptor conversion kits
this week and I can honestly say I enjoyed building it, I must admit it’s
very different to building a Raptor but if you follow Gasserman’s manual
it’s pretty straight forward. I did have a problem with the bolt clearance
on the stiffener plate under the cooling fan, but Gasserman was quick to
rectify this, apart from that I didn't have any other problems. You don't
need any special tools for this build, but I would recommend a set of long
tweezers for holding the frame spacers, as they can be a bit fiddly.
I decided to re site the throttle servo into a new front leg and Gasserman
has now added this to his design.
For the fuel I found a 20oz tank that fits very well and should give
30min plus.
I have also fitted a 15 pinion on my build to gain more head speed,
but this involves slotting the bolt holes for the starter shaft bearing
block and also the fan housing to allow the gears to mesh correctly.
The Raptor 90 canopy will still fit after the conversion with a bit
of trimming, but you will see from the photos it is tight in places. I
had my doubts about the pitch control arm clearing the top, but its ok
with + / - 12 on mine.
I have taken some photos showing how I fit the servo and the throttle
arm plus how to fit the canopy in detail and you can find these in a zip

Since lots people are interested about the generator and Fixit have
successfully finished the solution on the tail and asked some control device,
I have developed light and simple solution. The mini board have red and
green LED. When the heli is on idle, the red LED is ON till the voltage
reaches 4,5 volts - then the red LED switches OFF and green LED came ON.
